Jeffrey Lewis with Laura Marling - Brain Damage (Eminem Cover)
This transatlantic collaboration is beautiful! They have made the song their own, to the point where it sounds like something Jeffery Lewis would write!
Jeffrey Lewis on the Culture Show -
This is a good overview of Jeffrey's work - showing his range of musical influences/styles...

This Is Anti-Folk!
I know there may be some concern with the genre and the musicians I am considering to be placed in it, especially as the essential characteristics of the genre are hard to identify because they vary between each artist.
I love the melancholy feel of this video… This is an typical example of ‘Anti-Folk’ – rough, raw with beautifully intricate lyrics..
I've been hugely influenced by the recent folk scene in the U.K. in particular... I think the Anti-Folk label is quite appropriate for this new uprising of folk music that is perfect for being imperfect.
“If this is folk, then I am anti-folk”

There are plenty of good artists that play on "A Takeaway Show". I may post some more in the coming weeks... This is my favourite artist of the moment.. Johnny Flynn sings consistently thoughtful, witty and beautiful songs.
"I do like this American Scene at the moment known as Anti-Folk. There's some real talent coming from there I think"
Johnny Flynn
Loving Emmy The Great at the moment, and i'm a sucker for harmonies, so this is the perfect video for me. Emmy The Great plays anti-folk music with a unique worldview and clever, mocking lyrics- she takes on heavy issues such as pregnancy, failed relationships and death.
This is anti-folk, but not actually anti it. In fact, they rather like it. In an understated sort of way.
